AUDIO: TABOR Refund $$ Not Guaranteed To Benefit Transportation, Education
If Democrat Speaker of the House KC Becker and her supporters get their way, taxpayer refunds under the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights will permanently be held by the state for additional spending money. Becker has promised that this money will be spent on transportation fixes and education…two top priorities for Colorado taxpayers…but has admitted that isn’t necessarily the case.
The TABOR Yes coalition released an audio recording in which Becker admits that in the event that Coloradans vote to permanently forego receiving refunds under the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, there is no assurance that future legislatures will fund these priorities.
